1.      NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY AFFILIATION

The Squash Club (“the Club”) is not affiliated to a national governing body.

 

2.      NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY INSURANCE COVER

The Club is not affiliated to a national governing body.

 

3.      NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY SAFETY CODE

The Squash Club is not affiliated to a national governing body.

 

4.      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE FOR LEADER OF TRIPS/TRAINING SESSIONS

The Squash Club runs Practice/Training Sessions take place on a weekly basis. These are led by members of the Squash Club Committee, all of whom are experienced squash players.

 

5.      CLUB CODE OF PRACTICE

The University of St Andrews Squash Club holds training sessions four times a week open to all members of varying abilities. These are held on Sundays afternoons, Monday evenings, Wednesday afternoons and Thursday evenings at the University Sports Centre squash courts. An additional session for members of the First Team is also held on a Friday afternoon also at the University Sports Centre squash courts.

7.      EMERGENCY PROCEDURES WHEN AN ACCIDENT/INJURY OCCURS

The first aid kit attends all matches, coaching and practice sessions both home and away.  The safety officer (or another member in his place) will administer appropriate first aid then contact the emergency services if necessary. As soon as is possible the AU and next of kin will be informed and an incident report form filed at the first opportunity. Following an emergency the safety officer (or another member in his place) will ensure that all other members are safe so as to ensure that there will be no other casualties. This will involve clearing all courts and stopping all games until the situation has been fully assessed.

 

8.      FIRST AID BOX PROVISION

The club owns a first aid kit containing the following:

6 x Large Bandages

4 x Triangular Bandages

5 x Pairs of Gloves

1 x Scissors (First Aid Shears)

2 x Foil Space Blankets

2 x Instant cooling packs

6 x Large Low Adherent Dressings

1 x Copy of the AU Incident Reporting Procedure

Which is required by the AU, as well as various other items:

6 x Safety Pins

7 x Small Wound Dressings

5 x Medium Wound Dressings

2 x Large Wound Dressings

6 x Alcohol-free cleansing wipes

20 x Assorted Plasters

1 x Antiseptic Cream

4 x Stretch Bandages

1 x Sterile Gauze Pad

1 x Crêpe Bandage with pin

1 x Surgical Tape

 

The kit is maintained by the Club Safety Officer and attends every practice/training session.  If the Safety Officer is not present, another committee member will bring the kit.

 

9.      MEMBERS WHO HOLD AN UP TO DATE FIRST AID CERTIFICATE

Currently no members of the committee hold an up to date first aid certificate.

 

10.  CERTIFICATED COACHES AND THEIR QUALIFICATIONS

The club employs the following student coaches:
